A Delectable Summer Dessert: Avocado Chocolate Mousse

I am always looking for quick, easy, and delicious recipes. This one is perfect for summer entertaining, so I thought I’d share it with you all as everyone gears up for summer break.

Chocolate mousse feels decadent and sophisticated. It is served cold, making it both a refreshing dessert on a hot summer night and perfect for entertaining because you make it ahead and simply pull it out of the refrigerator to serve.

Ingredients:

  • 3 avocadoes

  • ½ c. cocoa powder, unsweetened

  • ¾ c. maple (or agave) syrup

  • sea salt

Directions:

  1. Blend flesh from avocados, cocoa powder, and maple syrup in a blender or food processor until very creamy.

  2. Pour into individual small cups or bowls.

  3. Chill 1 hour or more.

  4. Sprinkle with sea salt and top with a dollop of whipped cream before serving.
