Book Review: Theo of Golden

A friend of mine recently recommended this book to me, and I’m so glad she did. In this novel, Theo is introduced as a mysterious and friendly old man who shows up in the small town of Golden, Georgia. He discovers a lovely local coffee shop with 92 portraits hanging on the walls. As he learns the story behind them, he begins to purchase them one by one and gift them to the subjects of the portraits. Theo’s kind gesture is received in many different ways by many different people throughout the story. As the story unfolds, bits and pieces of information about who Theo really is are revealed to the reader. It is a heartwarming, engaging read.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a book that will leave them feeling like they got a warm hug, hoping for a positive, inspirational outlook on the world, or simply looking for for a cozy read. It would be a perfect book to curl up with on the porch as the weather begins to cool.
